Blue Horizons Team in Lithuania

Jackie Waring and Viv Collie from Blue Horizons will shortly be in Lithuania as part of a Trade Mission organised by Scottish Enterprise to explore market potential in this thriving accession state.

Hosted by the Embassy in Vilnius from 16-19 May 2005, the majority of meetings are with development agencies concerned with boosting growth in the country’s small business (SME) sector.

With extensive economic development experience between them, both Jackie and Viv believe there is strong potential for ‘exporting’ UK expertise into this and other accession states. Jackie’s current work within a team of policy advisors to government on improving levels of female entrepreneurialism within the UK, is generating significant interest from various SME organisations in Lithuania.

“This visit is very much an exploratory mission to begin but both Viv and I can see real potential for developing trans national partnerships designed to boost entrepreneurialism in Lithuania, perhaps especially amongst women. As always, learning is two way and we are sure we will increase our own knowledge from this mission.”
