US INSPIRATION FOR BLUE HORIZONS

It’s Washington DC, Capital Hill and top US companies for Fife based company Blue Horizons in the New Year.

The company led by Managing Director Jackie Waring has struck a partnership with Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce to take a group of 12 top executives to the US Capital in March 2004.

The Inspire programme, specifically developed for CEO’s, Managing Directors and senior executives, will involve strategic discussions with the top executives of companies such as Charles Schwab, Merrill Lynch, Harley Davidson, Verizon, SAS, Walmart and Dollar Tree amongst several others.

Four members of US congress will also be hosting a session for the delegates along with top political lobbyists to demonstrate how business in the US can influence the political agenda. This, along with highly interactive sessions with published and known corporate specialists including Jack Tootsen (formerly DELL), Roger Nagel and Mary Connors, forms the week long programme. Delegates will also be invited to brief their US hosts on the specific strategic issues they want to cover prior to their visit.

Blue Horizon’s Jackie Waring;

“The host companies we’ll visit in the US have been selected because of their winning strategies and their potential to inspire new thinking and different approaches. It is also our plan to alter that selection to suit those participating. Blue Horizons US based team member has a number of other first class companies who are only too happy to host a group of Scottish Senior Executives and share their future strategies. The prospect of an ongoing international network of top level executives is as attractive to the host organisations as it is to the Scottish delegates.”

Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce has been working with Blue Horizons for several months now to develop this opportunity for companies across Scotland. Development Director Dr Iain Grieve commented;

“The Chamber is really looking forward to working with Jackie and the Blue Horizons team on Inspire. This is an exciting development for us and a great opportunity for senior executives. We are delighted that the quality of this programme has already attracted the interest of some of Scotland’s key businesses.”
